At the core of any successful communication lies a good relationship. To be able to hypnotise anybody you have to get people to trust you.

How do you establish this connection that allows you to connect with another person: you make them FEEL COMFORTABLE.
People like people like themselves, so here are 3 things you can do:
1. Match their speech and language:
- Do they talk fast or slow
- Listen to what words they use and how they pronounce them
- Tonality, do they speak soft or loud
2. Repeat and Approve.
Repeat some of the things they say. Not every word but just to sum up and let them know you understand. It forces you to listen more actively.
Be approving of the things you agree with, by nodding and saying things like excellent. If you disagree with something DO NOTHING. Don’t give any signs of approval or disapproval. What will happens is they will tend to conform, as people like being reinforced.
3. Match Body language.
- Slowly adapt the same position as the person you are talking to. Don’t make it to obvious.
- Gestures: Use the same hand gesture they use, but only when it is you turn to speak
